Quality Control Manager, Denver, CO: 
  • 4 year degree in Animal Science or similar major
  • Quality control experience in the Red meat/poultry industry is a MUST
  • Knowledge of USDA Codes
  • Supervisor experience; will supervise a team of 8-10 QC Techs
Summary: This position will oversee the quality control and assurance efforts of a direct single-site production, packaging and distribution center for a pet treat company. Works closely with members of the marketing department, technical services, sales, and operations to ensure continuity in product
offering and company goals. Oversees the quality standards set forth by the Company, and Federal requirements set forth by the USDA or other regulatory agencies for the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages and communicates product changes both internally and externally. 
HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP’s and SOP’s.
Oversees training of the plant’s employees relating to quality and HACCP programs.
Tests and inspects product, ingredients, and materials used at all stages of production for conformance to company standards.
Assists the Operations Manager in development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Tracks and coordinates nonconformance issues within and between departments and divisions.
Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and suppliers to help facilitate strong product lines, high quality products and delivery of exceptional customer service.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to interface well with all employees of the Company and to represent the Company in a highly professional manner. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Must be multi-task oriented.
Language Ability:
Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to effectively read, speak and communicate in English and ability to effectively present information verbally one-on-one and in group situations to customers, vendors and other employees. Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to interact and draw valid conclusions. Ability to react, respond and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation and/or ERP software as well as the ability to type and perform 10 key by touch if germane to your position.
